The Lincoln Lawyer Season 5 Begins Filming in Los Angeles

Netflix’s hit legal drama The Lincoln Lawyer is officially returning for a fifth season — but the upcoming installment will also serve as the show’s final chapter. The streaming giant confirmed the renewal in early 2026, with production already underway in Los Angeles.
The final season will once again follow defense attorney Mickey Haller, played by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, as he tackles one of the most personal and emotionally challenging cases of his career. According to Netflix, Season 5 adapts Michael Connelly’s novel Resurrection Walk, bringing a darker and more intense storyline to the screen.
New Storyline and Major Twist
Season 5 begins after the dramatic events of Season 4, where Mickey fought to clear his own name. The new season introduces a major twist when a woman named Emi — played by Cobie Smulders — claims to be Mickey’s half-sister and asks for his help in overturning a wrongful murder conviction.
As Mickey investigates the six-year-old case, he uncovers deeper corruption, hidden family secrets, and growing dangers surrounding the justice system. Showrunners Ted Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez have described the season as “one of the most personal periods” in Mickey Haller’s life.
Returning Cast and New Additions
Several fan-favorite cast members are returning for the final season, including: Becki Newton Jazz Raycole Angus Sampson Neve Campbell Netflix has also announced multiple new recurring cast additions, including Tricia Helfer and Nate Corddry.
Release Date Expectations
Netflix has not yet revealed an official premiere date for Season 5. However, filming reportedly began in March 2026 and is expected to continue through mid-2026, making a 2027 release likely. The final season will consist of 10 episodes and is expected to conclude Mickey Haller’s story with what Netflix describes as his “last case.”
Massive Success for Netflix
