Chaos erupts in DLF U Block! Administration carries out hours-long bulldozer drive.

The district administration and concerned departments carried out a major bulldozer drive against illegal encroachments in U Block, DLF Phase-3, Gurugram. During this operation, illegal structures built on roads, lanes, and public spaces were removed. In an operation lasting several hours, administrative teams demolished ramps, staircases, guard rooms, temporary structures, extensions of shops, and other illegal encroachments.
Why was action taken?
According to officials, illegal constructions in several lanes of U Block were hindering the movement of the general public. The reduced road width was causing traffic jams and creating difficulties for the operation of emergency services. Keeping this in mind, the administration launched a drive to clear public land and the ‘Right of Way’. It had also become a major traffic hotspot.
A heavy police force was deployed.
Police forces were deployed to handle any untoward situation during the operation. Illegal structures were removed using bulldozers and other machinery under the supervision of administrative officials. Although people protested at several locations, the drive continued according to the planned schedule.
This will benefit us as well; traffic congestion—like that seen in Gurgaon—will be reduced. Previously, visiting the ‘U-Block’ area used to take a long time, but this initiative will benefit the general public, not just us. The Haryana government is doing an excellent job; roads will be widened, and traffic issues will be eliminated. The Gurgaon Police and the Haryana government administration are actively working on this project, utilizing heavy machinery like bulldozers to carry out the task.
A campaign is underway across Gurugram.
The action taken in DLF U Block is not an isolated incident. Bulldozers have previously been used to demolish illegal constructions in several other areas of Gurugram, such as DLF Phases, South City, Sushant Lok, Golf Course Road, and other colonies. The administration has stated that no encroachment on public land will be tolerated and that this drive will continue.
Yes, technical issues in Gurgaon will also be addressed. Currently, work is underway at two locations: U-Block in DLF Gurgaon and the Bhatt Ka Sohna Pahad colony. The Haryana government administration is also actively involved. Do you think they are doing a good job? Yes, they are doing excellent work—it is a form of social service that benefits our community and system; the time invested here is truly worthwhile.
Reaction of local residents
Some local residents supported the administration’s action, stating that it would clear the roads and improve traffic flow. Meanwhile, some of those affected claim they were not given adequate time. However, the administration maintains that notices had been issued to the concerned individuals prior to the action.
The bulldozer drive in Gurugram’s DLF Phase-3 U Block is part of a city-wide campaign against illegal encroachments. The administration aims to clear public spaces of encroachments and improve civic amenities. Similar actions may be witnessed in other areas of Gurugram in the coming days.
