Rasheed M. H., known professionally as Shafi, was a prominent Indian film director for Malayalam cinema, especially in the comedy genre. Born on February 18, 1968 in Ernakulam, Kerala, he began his film career in the mid-1990s by assisting directors Rajasenan and the duo Rafi Mecartin. He made his directorial debut in 2001 with “One Man Show”.

Tragically, Shafi passed away on January 26, 2025, at the age of 56. He had been admitted to a private hospital in Kochi following a stroke on January 16 and was in critical condition before his demise

Shafi made his debut in the Malayalam film industry with a one man show and directed more than 50 films during his illustrious career. He gained immense popularity with his directorial works, and worked in the very brilliant India and steadily earned a name as a very good director in the film industry
