Early Life and Education
Born on 19 July 1974 in Julana, Haryana, Rekha Gupta moved to Delhi with her family in 1976. She received her education in the city, completing a Bachelor of Science (B.Com) degree from Daulat Ram College and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from Delhi University
Political Career
Rekha Gupta’s political journey began with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) at Daulat Ram College in 1992. She quickly rose to become the secretary of the Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) in 1995-96 and its president in 1996-97.

Gupta has held several important positions within the BJP, such as a member of the party’s national executive of the Delhi State Mahila Morcha. In 2022, she was the BJP’s candidate for mayor of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). In the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections, she defeated AAP’s Bandana Kumari from the Shalimar Bagh constituency by a margin of 29,595 votes.
