Ahead of the Yatra, authorities implemented strict safeguards—2,000 police personnel, 18 companies, drone surveillance, traffic diversions, and designated parking with shuttle services to Nalhar temple

Internet and bulk SMS services were temporarily suspended from the night of July 13 to midnight on July 14, aiming to curb rumors and inflammatory messages

All schools—government and private—in Nuh district were closed on July 14 to maintain public safety

Mazar Vandalism Prevented

Before the Yatra began, there was an attempt to vandalize a mazar (tomb/shrine). The police acted swiftly and foiled the act, averting potential communal escalation

The procession proceeded peacefully, with reports indicating restraint and cooperation—Chodhri Jakir Hussain Muslim residents of Mewat even participated in welcoming the Yatra at Nalhar temple

Why These Measures Were Necessary

The heightened vigilance was a direct response to the 2023 Nuh violence, where clashes during the Yatra left seven dead and about 90 injured
