General Steps for Celebrating Eid Correctly:
For Eid al-Fitr (after Ramadan)
Sighting the Moon – Eid is celebrated on the first day of Shawwal, confirmed by moon sighting.
Giving Zakat al-Fitr – A mandatory charity (before the Eid prayer) to help those in need.
Performing Ghusl (Ritual Purification) – Sunnah to cleanse before Eid prayer
Dressing Well – Wearing new or clean, presentable clothes.
Eating Dates – Sunnah to eat an odd number of dates before leaving for prayer
Attending the Eid Prayer – A special congregational prayer performed in open areas or mosques.
Listening to the Khutbah (Sermon) – Recommended after the praye
Greeting Others (“Eid Mubarak”) – Spreading joy and embracing loved ones
Celebrating with Family & Friends – Feasting, exchanging gifts, and visiting relatives
