In India, the country is witnessing a slight decline in cases. The number of active COVID-19 cases has increased to 1,009 from 257 in the previous week. Kerala has the highest number of active cases at 430, followed by Maharashtra (209), Delhi (104) and Gujarat (83). Other states like Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Haryana have also reported new cases.

Despite the new Omicron sub-variants in India, particularly NB.1.8.1 and LF.7, which have been found in Tamil Nadu and Gujarat respectively, most infections are being reported with mild symptoms such as headache, cough, sore throat and fatigue.
