Tejasvi Surya is an Indian politician, lawyer and member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Born on 16 November 1990 in Bangalore, Karnataka, he represents the Bangalore South
constituency in the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Parliament of India. He has been the president of the Bharatiya Janata Party, the youth wing of the BJP, since 26 September 2020.

Surya’s political journey began with his active participation in the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and later as the general secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM). He played a key role in the BJP’s
campaigns during the 2014 Indian general election and the 2018 Karnataka Legislative Assembly election. In the 2019 general elections, he was elected as MP from Bangalore South, succeeding the late Ananth Kumar.

Beyond politics, Surya is into law and has trained in Carnatic music. He owns an NGO
called Arise India, which works in the field of school education. In 2024, he became the first Indian public representative to complete the Ironman challenge

On March 6, 2025, Surya married Chennai-based Carnatic singer and Bharatanatyam artist Sivasri Skandaprasad. The wedding ceremony was a mix of Kannada and Tamil traditions. Their shared interest in music played an important role in their
relationship. Sivasri, a bio-engineering graduate and founder of Aahuti, has gained national recognition for her work in art and music. She received praise from Prime
Minister Narendra Modi for her Kannada performance dedicated to the Ram Mandir.
